Community education

Fire & Rescue NSW uses the expertise and experience of our firefighters to educate others in ways to prevent and prepare for emergencies.

Firefighters actively participate in in their local communities to raise awareness about fire safety and emergency prevention.

Our Community Risk Management unit supports firefighters by developing tools, resources and programs for firefighters to access when assisting their local community such as:

We also run annual events such as Open Day to help promote the importance of fire safety and escape plans for the home.

ComSafe is our commercial safety training unit. They provide a range of professional workplace safety and fire and emergency management training courses to organisations in NSW, interstate and overseas.

Some of their training courses include advanced fire warden training, confined spaces entry, executive fire team workshops and fire prevention.
