Unit Fire - Bass Hill

More than 20 firefighters are currently working to contain a fire that broke out at a residential apartment complex on Kawana Street, Bass Hill just before 12pm.
Numerous callers to Triple Zero (000) reported large columns of smoke coming from the upper levels of the building and on arrival firefighters discovered the fire had extended into the roof of the complex.
A number of residents have already self evacuated and NSW Police are working to evacuate neighbouring properties. No injuries have been reported.
Traffic on the Hume Highway is heavily affected and Kawana Street and Adeline Street have been closed as emergency services work to safely extinguish the fire.
