Car into Building - Video - Earlwood

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews are carefully trying to remove a car that's crashed through the brick wall of a shop at Earlwood in Sydney's inner south-west.
The Holden Captiva veered off William Street and into the side of a store, attached to the rear of a house, around 10.30 this morning.
The driver managed to get out of the vehicle, apparently unharmed.
Four fire trucks attended the incident.
The building has sustained extensive damage and a specialist FRNSW Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team is assisting to shore up the building.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said a large amount of electrical energy is discharged when lightning strikes a house, tree or car.
Community members are urged to keep up to date with local weather events that may impact their area.
"During a storm, stay indoors where possible to protect yourself, your loved ones and your pets. However, in the event of a fire, get out, stay out and call Triple Zero (000).”
