Nearby properties saved from Kebab shop fire - Enfield
Published: 16 Mar 2022 03:01pm
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) has prevented a deep fryer fire in a Kebab shop from spreading to nearby properties at Enfield in Sydney's inner west earlier today.
Shops on adjoining sides of the Kebab Shop were evacuated as crews checked for fire spread into these buildings.
Firefighters also provided emergency medical care to a woman suffering from smoke inhalation when crews arrived first on scene at the Liverpool Road shop just after 10.30am.
FRNSW crews quickly extinguished the fire which had extended into the flue above the deep fryer and had extensively damaged the front of the shop.
The female patient was treated by NSW Ambulance and transported to the hospital.
NSW Police were also in attendance.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
