Fire and Rescue NSW saves man in stormwater drain - Naremburn

Published: 07 Jul 2022 10:52am

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have rescued a man stuck in a stormwater drain this morning at Naremburn, on Sydney's lower north shore.

Fire trucks from Crows Nest and Lane Cove arrived in Park Road by Flat Rock Creek just after 8am and discovered the 43-year-old man, caught in a swift-water canal drain.

During the tricky rescue, firefighters rigged up a pulley system using ropes and a ladder, and safely lifted the man from the floodwaters.

They placed him in a stokes litter and raised him to the top of a 10-metre slope, where NSW Ambulance paramedics stabilised the patient and assessed him for hypothermia.
