Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) has extinguished a fire which threatened to destroy a row of villas in Sydney's north-west this afternoon.
Just before 2:30pm, emergency services were called to Kent Street, Epping, where a large amount of smoke was billowing from the housing complex.
One villa was engulfed in flames.
FRNSW firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, entered the building and immediately began attacking the the blaze.
They managed to stop the fire from spreading to adjoining villas, extinguishing it in less than an hour.
Eight residents were evacuated but have since been allowed to return home.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, it's believed it may have started in a laundry.
