Published: 30 Nov 2021 01:26am

Fire and Rescue (FRNSW) crews have rescued a woman from a van, teetering on the edge of an embankment at Tweed Heads South on the state's far north coast.

Crews from the Tweed Heads and Banora Point fire stations, along with the Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA), were called to scene just after 1pm yesterday (Tuesday 30 November) and used winches to stabilise the vehicle.

The driver was uninjured and was safely removed from the van.
A tow truck was then used to lift the vehicle back up the embankment onto the road.

NSW Police and Ambulance NSW also attended the scene.
