Fire has severely damaged a home overnight at Wagga Wagga in the state's Riverina.
Three fire units from Turvey Park and Wagga Wagga Fire Stations were called to Bardia Street in Ashmont just after midnight.
They found the house well alight and overhead power lines on fire.
Four firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, cut power and gas to the property before entering the single-level home and declaring it unoccupied.
It took crews around half-an-hour to extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
