Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have used hydraulic tools to rescue a driver from a car crash at Brownlow Hill in Sydney's southwest earlier this morning.
The car had veered off the road and rolled into dense bushland with the driver trapped when firefighters arrived at Werombi Road just after 3:00 AM this morning.
The female driver was treated by NSW Ambulance and transported to hospital.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said a large amount of electrical energy is discharged when lightning strikes a house, tree or car.
Community members are urged to keep up to date with local weather events that may impact their area.
"During a storm, stay indoors where possible to protect yourself, your loved ones and your pets. However, in the event of a fire, get out, stay out and call Triple Zero (000).”
