Car Crash - Hexham

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) attended a truck and car motor vehicle crash at Hexham, north of Newcastle, this morning.
The accident involved two trucks and a car just south of the bridge on the New England Highway.
The driver of the car was trapped and firefighters stabilised the vehicle before he was removed by NSW Ambulance rescue.
Crews also cleaned up the oil spill on the roadway.
NSW Police attended the incident.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said a large amount of electrical energy is discharged when lightning strikes a house, tree or car.
Community members are urged to keep up to date with local weather events that may impact their area.
"During a storm, stay indoors where possible to protect yourself, your loved ones and your pets. However, in the event of a fire, get out, stay out and call Triple Zero (000).”
