Man rescued under fallen rock - Penrith

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have rescued a man crushed by a boulder at a worksite in Penrith.

The incident occurred on a property in Fitch Avenue, just after 11.30 this morning.

The man, aged in his late 20's, was working near a small dump truck when a rock, weighing about 500kg, fell and struck him, pinning him by the lower back and left arm.

FRNSW crews from Penrith, Regentville and Blacktown Fire stations were quickly on the scene with Police and ambulance paramedics.

Together they carefully extricated the man, carrying him to safety around 12.30 this afternoon.

He has been transported to hospital for further medical treatment.
