House Fire - Berkeley
Published: 14 Jun 2022 07:42pm
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have extinguished a house fire at Berkeley in the state's Illawarra.
When fire crews arrived at the scene just after midday today, they found the single level home in Cambridge Street well alight.
One team of firefighters established hose lines and attacked the blaze from the outside while a second team, wearing breathing apparatus, entered the dwelling to ensure it was clear.
Two occupants were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The cause of the fire is being determined.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
