Unit fire - Dulwich Hill
Published: 11 Jul 2022 10:48am
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) has extinguished a unit fire in Dulwich Hill in Sydney's Inner West.
Crews received multiple Triple Zero (000) calls about smoke issuing from a three-storey unit block in Denison Road at 9.30 am.
On arrival, firefighters found a fire in a second storey unit. Crews quickly got to work to extinguish the blaze.
Upon entry of the unit, firefighters found a person suffering burns to their body. They extricated the person and provided urgent medical attention until NSW Ambulance arrived.
Crews cleared the other units of fire extension and smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by FRNSW and NSW Police.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
