FRNSW frees trapped occupants after serious crash - Wetherill Park
Published: 22 Dec 2022 02:14pm
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have used hydraulic tools to cut free four people from the wreckage of a multi-vehicle crash, in south west Sydney.
A cement mixer collided with two cars and a pantech truck, and flipped onto its side, on Widemere Road shortly before 12pm today.
Technical rescue firefighters worked rapidly, with specialist equipment on a platform, to remove two occupants from the pantech after it caught alight.
Once freed, all six occupants were treated and transported by NSW Ambulance paramedics to hospital.
NSW Police were also in attendance, providing assistance.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
