Truck Fire - South Tamworth

Shortly before 9:30am, Fire and Rescue NSW received a Triple Zero (000) call reporting a garbage truck which had caught fire on Hillvue Road, South Tamworth.
Crews from South Tamworth Fire Station responded to the incident and found a large pile of rubbish had caught on fire inside the truck, causing the truck to dump its load in a nearby park.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze before using a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and render the area safe.
Tamworth Regional Council are currently on scene working to remove the rubbish.
No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.
