A garage has exploded into flames at East Hills, in Sydney's south-west, with multiple Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews bringing the situation under control.
More than 30 firefighters and eight fire trucks were deployed around 3:15pm today to Maclaurin Avenue where a fire had broken out in a villa.
As firefighters approached the property, which is in a complex situated behind several homes, an explosion occurred within the garage.
The blast caused significant damage to the structure, and smashed windows and ripped off roof tiles from neighbouring homes.
10 people have been evacuated from the surrounding area as FRNSW crews work to make the area safe for their return.
There are no reports of injuries at this stage.
The fire has been extinguished.
Experts from FRNSW's Fire Investigation and Research Unit (FIRU) are attending the scene to determine what caused the incident.
