Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have used hydraulic equipment to free two people from the wreckage of a truck crash this morning at Lidcombe in Sydney's west.
Just before 6am, a small garbage truck was travelling along Joseph Street when it left the road and crashed into a building.
The driver and a passenger were trapped in the cabin.
Three fire appliances were quickly on scene and firefighters extricated the driver.
The passenger was pinned by his legs and it took rescue technicians 90 minutes to pry away the wreckage, using hydraulic tools.
He was freed and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for significant injuries.
NSW Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
The building suffered only minor damage but has been sealed off pending a stability inspection.
