Fire and Rescue NSW crews respond to wild storm - Port Macquarie

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews are responding to a number of emergencies after a damaging storm this afternoon in Port Macquarie, on the state's mid-north coast.
Wild winds struck the town just after 3pm.
The powerful gusts ripped the roof off an apartment block in Hastings River Drive.
Residents from three top floor apartments rushed downstairs to seek shelter with neighbours.
A tree crashed down into a house in Hay Street, tearing off its roof, and firefighters have rushed to assist a damaged private hospital in Lake Road.
In Murray Street, two large gum trees were toppled. One struck a truck, the other landed on a car. There are no reports of injuries there.
Firefighters are also at the scene of a large tree down in Hayward Street, where powerlines have also fallen.
FRNSW crews from Port Macquarie, Laurieton and Kempsey are working with other emergency services during the clean-up operation.
