New book celebrates 40 years of women in firefighting - Penrith

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) will mark 40 years of women in firefighting with the launch of Trailblazing: The History and Stories of Female Firefighters in Fire and Rescue NSW, at the Museum of Fire in Penrith.

The book captures the experiences of women who have helped shape the organisation since 1985, when female firefighters were first able to join the service.

All proceeds from book sales will go to the Museum of Fire, FRNSW’s official heritage partner.

Media are invited to hear from a panel of past and present female firefighters.
